Viki Hughes

My journey here began in 2022, fueled by a passionate mission inspired by various experiences and influences. My background working with Looked after children revealed a significant gap in mental health support, igniting my determination to make a difference.

The arrival of my first baby during lockdown brought both challenges and blessings. While I cherished the uninterrupted time with my bundle of joy, I also felt the absence of the shared joys that come with welcoming a new addition to the family and the connection with local mums traveling the same journey.

Volunteering and working at various community projects and farms, such as Fen Zen, iFarm, Escape Project, and a Special Place in Devon, deeply impacted me. Witnessing the profound impact these project's have on people's wellbeing and local communities fueled my inspiration further.

Since having children my world has changed, I want to bring us back into a community, where we support each other to grow. and bring back the knowledge and respect for sustainability and our planet that seems to have been lost through generations. Our children are the future so lets ensure we leave them a safe and connected home.

I have a background in working for charities, I’m resolved to make a positive difference in our community.

My passion for education is always present, particularly in regards to empowering our children with essential life skills. I truly believe in the importance of nurturing young minds and fostering a deeper connection with the natural world. With a keen interest in conservation, gardening and cooking, I strive to in-still these invaluable skills in my own children, excited to guide them toward a more sustainable and fulfilling future.

My enthusiasm for both learning and teaching extends beyond the limitations of traditional education, as I actively seek ways to enrich lives through hands-on experiences and exploration.

I feel so blessed to be a part of The Wild Hub, embarking on this journey with the community we are creating to make a meaningful difference together!

Hi there, I'm Sarah and I recently joined The Wild Hub as a director, which I'm very excited about! I discovered TWH whilst I was attending one of their well-being events at the Discovery Centre. Immediately, I was eager to know more about them, and the purpose of their mission. I love the whole ethos of the hub, from their enthusiasm to help others, to their commitment to improve peoples' mental health and well-being, at an affordable price too!

I have a great interest in well-being and spiritual topics, as I am also a Reiki Master/Teacher. Being part of this wonderful community, has connected me to other spiritual practitioners and I have already gained some amazing friends here.

I am passionate about many things in life, but they all connect together just perfectly. I love to garden, visit nature, help people, heal people, ride my bike, read and I'm always trying to improve my knowledge by attending courses. I also love to spend time with my family when I can.

Our
Vision

At The Wild Hub, we envision a world where individuals thrive in a supportive community, where mental wellbeing is nurtured and loneliness becomes a thing of the past. Our mission is to combat isolation and foster connections through a variety of groups and activities tailored to uplift spirits and create bonds. We believe in the power of community, where every individual is valued and supported.

But our vision extends beyond human connections. We are passionate about reconnecting people with nature, recognising the abundant healing it offers. By immersing ourselves in the natural world, we rediscover a sense of peace, rejuvenation, and harmony. Together, we strive to create a community that embraces both human connections and the bountiful gifts of nature, nurturing holistic wellbeing for all.
