Women and ADHD

Did you know that 75% of women who live with ADHD in the UK are undiagnosed?
Original studies on ADHD were focused on the male population, meaning that often our symptoms are overlooked, misdiagnosed, or attributed to our personality traits.
Our aim is to build a community network for women who live with the symptoms of ADHD, to learn how we can flourish and grow, and support each other.
To empower women to thrive. By sharing our coping mechanisms and building a support network locally.
To provide a safe and empathic environment, where women can talk openly and freely about their unique experience of living with ADHD and how it impacts our lives.
To increase self-awareness through open discussions and interactive activities.
By sharing experiences we support other women in their journey of self-awareness.
To increase our positive sense of self, sharing experiences in a non-judgemental and confidential environment.
To reduce stigma and the negative perceptions about ADHD in women.
To increase compassion, by learning how ADHD impacts our thinking and behaviour we can learn how to be a little kinder to ourselves.
To share skills and coping mechanisms. We have all developed some amazing strategies that others may not have thought of, what better way to problem solve than with women who have similar experiences.
We are all experts in our own right. We know that ADHD women have so much talent and resilience, and by sharing our expertise and lived experience we can support each other in personal growth and healing.
To create a supportive network of women supporting women, reducing loneliness and feelings of isolation and increasing social mobility and capital in our community.
To help build a culture of belonging, to build neuro-inclusive practices and educating each other with the most up-to-date, best practices and approach
Help us to develop the programme by having your say.

Creating a personalised ADHD profile is a powerful tool for managing symptoms and helps to understand our unique strengths as well as our challenges.
Breaking the symptoms down into categories can help to communicate strengths and struggles to others, and increases awareness of stressors and triggers, and in turn allow us to tailor strategies to meet our needs.
